Oil Sensing Elevator Pump Control Systems

Oil Sensing Elevator Pump Control Systems

It is irresponsible and often illegal to pump oil into sewers or sanitary systems.

Prevent pumping oil into sewers or sanitary systems by combining specialized sensors and controllers with the right pump for the application. From elevator shafts to garages to transformer stations. Anywhere that oil can make its way into a pump station should have a means of preventing that oil from making its way downstream. Incorporating an oil sensing pump switch and alarm can notify you of a serious problem before it becomes an even bigger issue.

See Water, Inc. offers a complete line of Intrinsically Safe Oil Smart® pump control systems. The systems are designed to pump water without the risk of pumping oil, and provide constant monitoring of oil and water in hazardous locations. The components are UL listed as intrinsically safe approved for Class 1, Div 1, Group D  applications.

Applications:

• Hazardous locations classified as Class 1, Div 1, Group D

• Elevator sumps and underground vaults

• Any application where there is a need to remove water while containing oil

Operation of Oil Smart®

Normal Condition (Water Only)

When water comes in contact with the short (on) sensor, the pump will turn on. The pump will remain on until water clears the long (off) sensor.

Oil Present Condition

If oil comes in contact with the (on) sensor, the pump will not turn on.

Water (Oil Present Condition)

If the water level rises enough to contact the (on) sensor under the oil layer, the pump will turn on and remain on until the (off) sensor clears of water.

Operation of Liquid Smart®

High Water Level

When water comes in contact will both sensors, the white water indicator on the front panel will illuminate. This condition will turn on the red beacon alarm light and sound the alarm buzzer.

High Oil Level

If oil comes in contact with both sensors, the yellow oil indicator on the front panel will illuminate. This condition will turn on the red beacon alarm light and sound the alarm buzzer.
