Scum Blaster System

Scum is extraneous matter that forms on the surface of the liquid. Scum usually has a foul filmy coating.

If a basin has scum, it can be broken up and pumped out with a Weil Scum Blaster System. The Scum Blaster System is typically used with a Weil Slicer or Grinder Pump which disintegrates sewage solids including surface scum.

The Scum Blaster arrangement extends pumping time. During this period the sewage in the basin is sliced into smaller and smaller solids. The surface scum is continuously driven down into the liquid where it is pulled into the pump suction and sliced into progressively smaller sizes. The Scum Blaster jet nozzle pounds air into the sewage as it blasts through the surface scum.

Add for a minimum 15 foot head loss through the Scum Blaster system when specifying flow/head requirements for your pumping system.

Scum Blaster assembly includes:

• (1) ANSI flanged discharge tee
• (1) ANSI flanged 90° elbow
• (1) ANSI flange with nozzle
